Everyone’s always talking about needing more reviews for your business. But it’s no longer just a matter of having a good reputation and the testimonials to prove it. Reviews now also act as a free marketing tool. 

Not only that–but the RIGHT kind of reviews? They bring your company valuation UP.

So here’s a quick breakdown.

You gotta get the RIGHT kind of reviews

According to my friend Lorne Sederoff over at SearchKings, Google Reviews is where it’s at. 

Why? Because…

  1. that’s where most leads come from 
  2. the more reviews you get, the better your ranking
  3. the BETTER your reviews get, the better your valuation

And when I say “better”, I don’t mean just your customer’s rating of your service. I also mean the quality of the review. Because the secret to good reviews is that they’ve gotta mention your techs by name. Not YOUR name, your techs. Because… 

  1. that proves that the review is legit and your techs are active, which looks better for Google
  2. it proves that your company doesn’t operate on just your name, which brings up your valuation

So, you need to generate at least 3 GOOD Google reviews a week to rank higher– bringing down your cost lead, and bringing up your company’s valuation.

But how do you do that?

You gotta make the reviewing process a breeze

Simply asking your customers to review your service won’t cut it. You need to chase your reviews—and there are 3 steps to doing that:

  1. Give your techs a script and have them memorize exactly what to say 
  2. Ask the customer to write the review in real time
  3. Make the reviewing process easy, accessible, and convenient

You have to take the chance and get your review in real time. Because if they promise to write the review when they get home–they won’t. Not because they don’t want to, but because they have better things to do. So you gotta secure your review right then and there. And don’t waste your customers’ time by giving them difficult instructions–make the process easy for them. Make it a single-click procedure through a link that’s sent to their phone in real time. Or, offer them the website on your phone or tablet–doesn’t matter how they access the reviewing space, what matters is that they do! 

You gotta make it worth your team’s while

Just like you shouldn’t waste your customer’s time, you should also respect your staff’s time. Your staff doesn’t need more tasks–so you need to make it worth their time and effort. To do that, incentivize them. Make them WANT to go the extra mile and secure that review. 

You could, for example, offer a bonus per review that mentions their name. Or, make it into a game; the tech with the most reviews gets a day off. Get creative with it. All that matters is you create the right system for them to CARE about getting more reviews.

So there you have it. The 3 steps to getting the RIGHT Google reviews, increasing your company’s valuation, AND increasing your leads:

  1. Make it an easy process that your customers can’t refuse
  2. Make your staff WANT to chase the reviews for you
  3. Make sure the reviews are GOOD and mention your techs by name
